TZGISUG: Tanzania GIS User Group
'The Tanzania Geographic Information Systems Users Group (TZGISUG) is a semi-formal network of GIS practitioners and users who are either based in or are working on GIS issues related to Tanzania. The purpose of the TZGISUG is to provide a "place" where constituents of the network can share knowledge, information, shapefiles, map examples and generally provide support on a peer-to-peer basis on variety of technical issues.

The Tanzania GIS User Group website has been updated. We recently updated our server system to Ubuntu server 10.04 and the TikiWiki? content management system from version 3 to 5.

The site www.ifitwasmyhome.com shows the Gulf oil spill with an overlay of the Gulf (BP) oil spill, to give a better impression of the spill's size. I made three images and uploaded to the 'temporary' gallery on this site, showing Zanzibar and the Luangwa Valley in addition to the Arusha example shown in the article opened by pressing "Read more".
